The marina has its own Association, By-Laws, Covenants, Board of Directors, and is self managed. The current N.C. registered agent for the Association ( BSA ) is the treasurer Riley Horne and the associations business address is Cannonsgate at Bogue Sound Boat Slip Association, Inc. P.O.B. 1600 Clayton, N.C. 27528
The 75 slips in the marina have deeds and are all privately owned. To own a slip you have to be a lot owner in Cannonsgate. As a slip owner you can lease your slip only to a Cannonsgate lot owner. After the sale of your lot a person cannot retain position of a slip if he/she doesn’t own a lot in Cannonsgate.
The slip sizes are 35, 40, 50, and 60 feet. Each has its own power and water connection. The water is turned off November through March of each year to prevent water lines from freezing.
The boat storage area falls under the direction of Cannonsgate at Bogue Sound Home Owners Association, Inc. (The HOA). It is located next to highway 24 in the front of the community behind the sales office. At this time rules and regulation for usage is under review by the HOA and will be posted soon.
